Eggs are good food

How to choose fresh eggs When you buy eggs from our farm or market, look at these things:
- The shell must be clean and not cracked. Cracked eggs can have germs.
- Shake the egg gently near your ear. If you hear nothing or very little sound, it is fresh. Old eggs make a sloshing sound because the inside is watery.
- Look at the color. Fresh eggs have bright yellow or orange yolks when you break them.
- Buy from trusted farms like ours. We collect eggs every day so they are very fresh.
How to store eggs at home
- Keep eggs in the fridge, not outside. Cold temperature stops bad bacteria from growing.
- Put eggs in the carton or a covered bowl. Do not wash them before storing because the natural layer on the shell protects them.
- Store eggs with the pointed end down. This keeps the yolk in place and makes them last longer.
- Use eggs within 3–4 weeks if stored in fridge. Check the date on the carton if you buy from shop.
- If eggs smell bad or look strange, do not eat them.
